A skilled and experienced relationship-builder, collaborator, and cultivator of strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagements across the public and private sector, Marco has a successful track record of building winning teams for advocacy, public affairs, and the execution of dynamic and complex projects. As the chief spokesperson, ambassador, and campaign lead for various organizations and high-profile community initiatives, Marco is a highly skilled public speaker, negotiator, and expert in media relations, as well as a seasoned and astute communicator to a diverse cross-section of government, corporate, member, and stakeholder audiences.
Marco currently serves on the Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB) as the first Public Director appointed to the organization in its 80-year history. Most recently Marco was the Chief of Staff to the CEO of De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Ltd., the Executive Director for the Calgary Downtown Business Association, and Vice President of the Western Hockey League. Prior to that, and for 14 years, he was the architect and leader of Calgary’s Sport and Major Event Strategy, serving as VP of Sport and Major Events at Tourism Calgary and the Executive Director of the Calgary Sport Tourism Authority. Marco is a graduate from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, the Executive Program from Queen’s Smith School of Business and the NFP Governance Program from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
