The Role

As the Manager of Manufacturing you will oversee the production from Fab to Finish for high end commercial, industrial and recreational flatbed trailers. This position would be ideal for a people first leader who can execute initiatives and perform continuous improvements. There is a long standing history in the organization and a culture that prides itself on customer service, quality products and safety. The Manager of Manufacturing will bring extensive experience in Lean Manufacturing, People leadership and development and the ability to achieve results in a high functioning team.  Someone who is comfortable on the shop floor and in the office and can adapt this approach to achieve positive results is Key.

  • Realize people results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within all processes
  • Supervise scheduling to assign personnel; establish priorities; monitor progress; revise schedules; resolve problems; report results through weekly efficiency calculations
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards
  • Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques
  • Provide information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data
  • Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements


  • Have 10+ years of experience in manufacturing in roles of increasing responsibility
  • Be certified or otherwise familiar with Lean manufacturing techniques
  • Have 5+ years of team lead/supervisory/management experience or otherwise be ready to move into the role based on exceptional interpersonal skills & maturity
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity working and leading a shop environment
  • Self-motivated, positive thinking and punctual
  • Able and willing to do manual labour when required
  • Have an obsessive attention to detail
  • Must be willing to relocate to plant location
